The Wives of Haj-Abbas (Hamsaraan-e Haj-Abbaas)

    The story of two old Iranian women; Sakineh and Nimtaj, widows of the same man. They live in the same house, lead a life as two close friends but are at the same time rivals. Having been married to Haj-Abbas, as his first and second wife, they were left alone without children after he died. The women quarrel over a trifle like a broken bowl, but nevertheless they take care of each other. Their jealousy and anger as well as their care for each other are marking their friendship.They are now obviously closely connected and sharing a certain affection towards one another.This film is a fascinating portrait of the excruciatingly painful co-existence with a sociological & anthropological disciplines.

The Lost Requiem (Marsiyeh-ye Gomshodeh)

    During World War II, about 3 to 4 hundred thousand Polish refugees were deported from Siberia to Iran.  Many of them were sent from Iran to the fronts, and thousands of those who remained, died of various diseases. The long rows of their gravestones are the only signs of this historical catastrophe. The orphans held in camps, in different cities of Iran, were later sent to distant countries such as New Zealand. From the thousands of refugees who were brought to Iran, not many more than a hundred remained in Iran forever. Only with their assistance it was possible for the filmmaker, Khosro Sinaee, to reconstruct the tragic destiny of those unfortunate refugees, which seems to be washed away from the memory of the world, which seems to have become “The lost Requiem"

Saffron (Zaferaan)

  This film depicts the life of a man from Khorasan who grows Saffron. The man has to deal with many challenges such as drought and pests which endanger the life and growth of this fragile flower. In addition of Saffron planting, its consideration is on the Iranian farmer’s behavior with his special ideas and traditions which belongs to this part of Iran, Khorasan Province. These traditions are yet related with the life of people of this area.

Caviar (Khaviyar)

    This film depicts the life and work of the families of fishermen who catch sturgeon for its caviar in the south of the Caspian Sea. Most of these fishermen live in a small town named Gomishan Gomoosh Tapeh.  This village located in in the south of Caspian Sea and these fisher men who live in this village are Turk man. The life story of this people is considered in this documentary.

Hasanloo Cup (Jam-e HASANLOO)

    Orumiyeh, dates back to the late 2nd millenni­um B.C. and is covered with designs depicting mythic heroes and stories. This cup is 21 cm and engraved by hand. It’s been used in fights, parties and many traditions. The director has developed his sight and by finding of the similarities between events and narrations engraved on the cup creates a conversation between different civilizations and events. This cup is discovered by an American group by leading of an archeologist named Dyson. The main subject of this cup is the mythological story of one God’s revolt against the other Gods.

The Palm (Nakhl)

  This is a documentary on palm trees, meth­ods of harvesting dates, packaging and transporting dates to factories. In this documentary, the camera man closes to the rural people who live in the remote villages. The combinations of primary and industrial signs are shown here. The mat-weaver girls and women, the children playing and swimming in river, a woman carrying a large tin of water over her head that the word of “ IRANOL” is seen on it, cows and the chimneys of oil refinery, all over them creates a various and attractive environment. Also the narration is not only simple but also it is so beautiful and easily accepted.
