The Lost Requiem (Marsiyeh-ye Gomshodeh)

 The Lost Requiem3

During World War II, about 3 to 4 hundred thousand Polish refugees were deported from Siberia to Iran.  Many of them were sent from Iran to the fronts, and thousands of those who remained, died of various diseases. The long rows of their gravestones are the only signs of this historical catastrophe. The orphans held in camps, in different cities of Iran, were later sent to distant countries such as New Zealand. From the thousands of refugees who were brought to Iran, not many more than a hundred remained in Iran forever. Only with their assistance it was possible for the filmmaker, Khosro Sinaee, to reconstruct the tragic destiny of those unfortunate refugees, which seems to be washed away from the memory of the world, which seems to have become “The lost Requiem"
